CONE BEAM SCANNER
Our office uses the cone beam scanner, which is a computerized piece of imaging equipment. It produces highly detailed 3D images of the teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone in just one scan. Often, this reduces the need for messy and foul-tasting traditional impressions, which reduces the room for error when creating restorations and dental prosthetics.
In addition, the images can be viewed in detail to allow Dr. Rigdon to provide more accurate treatment and diagnosis. They can even be enlarged so nothing is overlooked. They are also easy to store in dental records while also easy to transfer to a specialist or your insurance company.
E4D CROWNS
E4D technology allows you to get the restorations you need in just one day. Using a laser scanning technology, optical impressions of a tooth are captured. This information is sent to CAD/CAM software, where your crown is created to your exact specifics, including the size, shape, color, and texture so it will look like a natural tooth.
The information is then sent to the milling unit, where the custom-made restoration is created in about an hour. Now, there is no need for temporary crowns or messy impressions because the entire process is completed in one appointment. Although they are made in about an hour, they remain of the highest quality so they are strong and durable to last for several years.
LASER DENTISTRY
Laser dentistry allows for greater precision and more effective results. This often eliminates the need for sutures while greatly reducing the risk for infection and bleeding when used to treat soft tissues, such as during crown lengthening procedures.
